Situated in North Ari atoll, about 90 km away from capital Male’, Mathiveri island is surrounded by pristine white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise lagoon that encircled the house reef which is home for varieties of fishes and marine lives.
The island is home for over 800 inhabitants and is free from intense commercialism and is known as one of the quietest destinations in the atoll.
Along with the growing guest house business, it operates regular ferries twice daily between island and Male/ Airport, making transport easier for travellers.
The island is known among tourists for its cozy streets, serene environment, white sandy beaches, the sand bank within easy reach, and several world famous dive sites in close proximity.

Boat Ferry - low budget
For budget traveler’s cheapest way is by Ferry-Boats or by Cargo-Ferry. Strong to sea wt L-Jackets. It is adventurous & for couples it can be a rom- journey - enjoy watching waves while listening to sea breeze. Boat provides sitting/sleeping area+a toilet. Do pack S/drinks, water bot, few fruits n biscuits to add joy n energy. Rem to bring anti-vomit tab incase
